Used skatewheel flow rack is a high-density storage rack system for boxes and cartons. Unlike carton flow rack, skatewheel flow rack doesn't have lanes. Different size (width, length) boxes and cartons can be stored on the same level. Applications that utilize the FIFO (first in, first out) method of inventory control. Rack is stronger and holds more weight than regular flow rack, is maintenance free and will last longer than standard flow rack.
The skatewheel rack is installed between the pallet rack beams which saves vertical space. Wheels (plastic or steel) are staggered to hold more weight than standard flow rack beds. Rack can be stand-alone units or placed into pallet rack to create a high-density flow rack storage system. It is designed to meet the customers' inventory needs. The dimensions of the system are determined by the product size and weight.
Design and installation of skatewheel flow rack from manufacturers such as Kenenco, Unex, and Hytrol is available nationwide. Options include impact trays and speed controllers.
Used skate-wheel flow rack is a style of racking that uses a rear load design, with shelves that sit at a slight pitch. Each shelf contains equally spaced skate wheels with no lanes, so products of any size can be stored. When a stored item is removed from the front, the item directly behind it slides in place to replace it. This keeps merchandise better organized and easier to pick because it reduces the amount of additional labor required when picking and stocking.(click here to view entire article)
