Used pallet racking is a high-density storage system providing immediate access to every pallet stored. Pallets are stored one deep providing direct access to your products. Used pallet racking is available in three styles; bolted/slotted, teardrop, and structural.
The bolted/slotted style is an automatic lock beam to column connection which is ideal for industrial and general warehouses. It provides immediate access to product and is easy to install and maintain.
Teardrop pallet racking is a boltless pallet rack that assembles in minutes without tools. There are several manufacturers of teardrop pallet racking and most are compatible with each other. Ideal for industrial and general warehousing, this rack is adjustable in 2” increments.
Structural rack handles larger load capacities. With a strong secure connection, beams and columns are affixed using one nut and bolt. Frames are fabricated using hot-rolled structural steel channels for uprights and beams.
There are two types of selective pallet racking; cold rolled and structural. Structural selective pallet racks are made from hot steel. The hot steel is rolled to form I-beams and C channels. Structural steel rack is more expensive than cold rolled but can handle forklift abuse. Frames can usually be repaired instead of replaced. Structural selective rack holds more weight than cold rolled.
Cold rolled selective racking begins as a piece of flat steel. It is processed through a machine that forms the steel into the desired form. This type of rack uses less steel which reduces the cost. Light weight and easy installation makes this an ideal type of rack for applications that need to stack to the ceiling. Cold rolled rack is easily damaged when hit, therefore frame protectors are recommended.
Used pallet racking can be easily reconfigured for expansion. Several options are available for decking. Any type of forklift can be used in this rack system.
Double deep pallet rack is two rows of pallet rack back to back. This doubles the storage space in any warehouse. Eliminating the aisle between the rack increases storage space and saves money at the same time. Ideal when space is limited; however, this design limits access to the second pallet without removing the first pallet.
Many accessories are available including row spacers, column protectors and supports. Used pallet rack manufacturers include Frazier, Interlake, Steel King and Unarco. American Surplus stocks these brands along with Ridg-u-Rak and Mecalux. Design and installation of used pallet rack, by trained professionals, is available nationwide.
We carry the following accessories for your pallet rack:
Used pallet racking stores materials on pallets in horizontal rows on multiple levels. Pallet racks require the use of a forklift truck to load and unload pallets onto the racks. All pallet racking, no matter the style, will increase the storage density of your warehouse, retail centers, and any other storage facility. (click here to view entire article)
