IBC totes are cost-effective and are re-usable industrial containers that can provide easy transportation and storage of liquids and granulated substances (e.g. chemicals, food ingredients, solvents, pharmaceuticals, etc.) when compared to other types of containers or barrels. With these containers being versatile they make a great container for a variety of industries. Most IBC or intermediate bulk containers are stackable because they are mounted on a pallet which is designed to be moved by a forklift.
IBC totes are reinforced with a warp-resistant tubular steel jacket and internal corner guards to protect the inner container. Filling is done quickly and efficiently with a 2” valve and threaded lid. The most common size is 275 gallons. The volume range is situated between drums and tanks. IBC’s are made from resins, typically polyethylene, housed within the tubular galvanized iron cage which is attached to a pallet.
Most have a built-in tap (valve, spigot, or faucet) at the base of the container to which hoses can be attached or poured out of into small containers. Features include tote or tank can be used for transporting liquid or granulate, re-usable, can be stacked with a forklift, and most have a built-in valve, spigot, or faucet for emptying.
Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) are large, reusable industrial containers designed for the safe storage and transport of liquids and bulk materials. One of the key advantages of IBCs is their versatility. They can be used for a wide range of applications, including the storage and transport of liquids, powders, and granular materials. IBCs can be fitted with a range of accessories such as valves, pumps, and dispensers, which makes them ideal for use in various industrial processes. They can also be stacked on top of each other, which maximizes storage space and reduces the cost of storage and transportation.
Another advantage of IBCs is their durability. They are designed to withstand harsh industrial environments, and are resistant to corrosion, impact, and extreme temperatures. This makes them a reliable and cost-effective solution for the storage and transport of hazardous or valuable materials. Additionally, IBCs can be reused many times, which reduces waste and helps to protect the environment.
Finally, Intermediate Bulk Containers are a versatile and durable solution for the safe storage and transport of bulk materials. They offer a range of advantages, including versatility, durability, and reusability, which makes them a popular choice in various industries. With the right accessories and proper handling, IBCs can help to streamline industrial processes, reduce costs, and improve safety.
