Horizontal sliding gates are designed to complement the mezzanine safety railing system. When installed on the mezzanine the gate is opened and closed manually. Opening the gate allows material to be placed onto the top deck. The gate is then closed to protect employees from dangerous and costly workplace accidents.
Lift-out gates also allow access to the mezzanine by an employee manually lifting the gate vertically from its pinned position. After the material is placed onto the top of the mezzanine the lifted gate can be returned to its pinned position. The product is then moved to a new position.
A safety pivot gate provides continuous railing during the loading and unloading of material onto the top of the mezzanine. The gate structure has a bar; when pivoted up an employee opens an area for material to be placed on the top of the mezzanine. After the product is placed on the mezzanine the safety gate is again pivoted into position with the gate railing closing the opening in the outside railing and opening the internal railing for access to the material. At all times the mezzanine railing is closed preventing employee accidents. For material to be offloaded from the mezzanine, the process is just reversed.
Swing gates are designed to provide a method of closing the material loading area while not in use. Employees are required to open the swing door allowing material to be placed on the top of the mezzanine. Material should be placed beyond the swing of the gate door so that an employee can safely close the door to prevent accidents.
